Kelly Rowland Leaves Current Label

Destiny's Child member and best friend of Beyonce has just announced that she has parted ways with Music World Entertainment. The President and CEO of Music World is none other than Mathew Knowles, Beyonce's dad.

The two put out a joint statement about the split. Knowles said, "...We have amicably agreed to end our professional relationship...We will always be family first an foremost." Rowland echoes the sentiment, saying, "Although we have decided to part ways professionally, the Knowles family and the entire Music World Entertainment team will always be my family."

Oddly, this statement is posted in many news publications, including the Associated Press, but Kelly's official site from the label, kellyrowlandonline.com, says nothing about the separation.

MTV.com reports that Rowland's latest album, 2007's "Ms. Kelly," got good reviews from critics but didn't live up to the commercial success of her 2002 debut, "Simply Deep."

It is not clear whether Rowland has found new management or if she's planning to at all.
