Ken and Barbie Get Back Together!

Ken and Barbie are back together once again. The couple has been separated for seven years, but Ken has finally wooed Barbie back.

Ken and Barbie met in 1961 and started dating in 1962, according to PopWatch.com. They had been together through many different looks, both changing from blonde to brunette over the years. PopWatch.com called up Mattel to get an inside look on the news.

“They were reunited as costars, as you know, on the set of Toy Story 3,” explains Lisa McKnight, vice president of marketing at Mattel. “As we like to put it, they found they were kind of missing each other. They had a lot of fun together. Now a little time has passed since the shoot and all the premiere noise around the movie and all that good stuff, and I think they both realized that they’re made for each other.”

In 2004, she took up with Blaine, an Australian surfer, and dumped Ken on the side of the road. Ken went crazy to try and get his beautiful blonde back. He posted billboards starting Jan. 24, and on the Times Square Jumbotron starting Feb. 7, he wrote beautiful phrases like “Barbie, I want you back,” “Barbie, you’re the only doll for me,” “Barbie, we were made for each other,” and “Barbie, we may be plastic but our love is real,” according to The Today Show.

Barbie and Ken fans can breathe easy again and hope that this fashionable couple stays together for a long time.
