Ken Ober Dies
Ken Ober, a former game show host and producer, has died at the age of 52.
Lee Kernis, Ober's agent, said that his client was found dead in his Santa Monica home on Sunday, reports the AP. Although a cause of death has not been determined, Kernis said that Ober had indicated on Saturday that he was suffering from headaches and flu-like symptoms.
In 1987, Ober began hosting the popular MTV game show "Remote Control." For the show, contestants sat in chairs and answered pop-culture questions. Famous comedians of today, such as Adam Sandler, Denis Leary, and Colin Quinn, can attribute their starts to this show and Ober.
"Ken Ober was one of the sharpest, quickest, sweetest guys I ever met," Sandler said in a statement to MTV News. "He was always a great friend and I will miss him very much."
Leary was also quick to comment on the Ober's talents after his death.
"Kenny Ober was and always will be the quickest wit in the room," Leary said in a statement. "He was fall-down funny from the moment he was borna smart, fast and hilarious human being who made many of us, including myself, laugh until we cried."
Ober is survived by his parents and brother.
