'Kick-Ass 2' in Development Already
Even though the first Kick-Ass movie won't be out for another month, Cominsoon.net has reported that a sequel is already in the works. The film premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival on Friday to huge fanfare.
The movie is based on the first eight-issue comic written by Mark Miller, and is directed by Matthew Vaughn. The movie is centered on this first story, which centers on some unlikely superheroes who battle drug dealers without the help of any supernatural powers. The series is continuing in the comic world even as the movie is coming out, so Miller and Vaughn will have a lot of source material to draw on.
During the festival, star of the movie Christopher Mintz-Plasse said he talked with Mark Miller about ideas for the sequel.
"I met up with Mark actually a few months ago and we had a couple drinks and he told me it was going to be great, and he wants it to be very, very dark is what he's thinking," Mintz-Plasse said.
Kick-Ass opens April 16. Cast includes Nicolas Cage, Mark Strong, Chloe Moretz, Aaron Johnson and Jason Flemyng.
