Kim Kardashian Leaves "Dancing with the Stars"
Three weeks into the latest season of Dancing with the Stars, reality television star Kim Kardashian and her professional dancing partner, Mark Ballas, were cast off the show, according to People Magazine.
Tuesday night's episode concluded with Kardashian and Ballas performing a more playful version of one of their earlier dances, after which onlookers said Kardashian lost her composure.
People reported that as soon as the cameras were off, Kardashian burst into tears and ran backstage where her family was waiting for her.
The magazine also reported that Kardashian's publicist followed the star with a box of Kleenex when it became apparent that she was inconsolable.
"It was a tough day for her and we talked about it, and I imagine it will always be a sad day for her," Ballas said. "I just hope that her time on the show was magical for her, and, at the end of the day, I will always be so proud that I was the one holding her hand up there."
Dancing judge Carrie Ann Inaba said the show could have been "a great opportunity for her to blossom" but that Kardashian may have been in over her head.
"I don't think she really understood what it was that she got into when she joined the show," Inaba said. "It looks very glamorous, and it looks easy, but dancing is so athletic, and so difficult, and it's not easy to improve each week, and that's exactly what we demand from the contestants on the show."
