Kim Kardashian on Leaving DWTS

Just about everyone predicted that Cloris Leachman or Rocco DiSpirito would be sent home, but Dancing with the Stars kicked off someone rather unexpected, Kim Kardashian.

Kardashian could not be consoled after being sent home, according to People. Once the cameras were off, she ran into the arms of her supportive family and immediately broke down into tears. Kardashian's publicist reportedly followed her around the line of press with a box of Kleenex.

"To be honest last week, I cried so hard when I got home, just knowing this is SO hard for me and I really am trying-but my inner shyness is making it look like I am just not trying. I think I took it way too seriously and I was a nervous wreck on Wednesday," Kardashian admitted in her blog, according to E! Online.

"It was a tough day for her," her dancing partner Mark Ballas told People after the show, "and we talked about it, and I imagine it will always be a sad day for her. I just hope that her time on the show was magical for her, and, at the end of the day, I will always be so proud that I was the one holding her hand up there."

After the show, Judge Carrie Ann Inaba, who shared a long hug with Kardashian, told People, "This could have been a great opportunity for her to blossom and show the world that she is more than just a beautiful face. I don't think she really understood what it was that she got into when she joined the show. It looks very glamorous, and it looks easy, but dancing is so athletic, and so difficult, and it's not easy to improve each week, and that's exactly what we demand from the contestants on the show."

Kardashian's mother, Kris, told E!, "I am sad Kim was voted off tonight but so thrilled she was able to experience another fantastic and amazing journey that took her way outside her comfort zone. I am very, very proud!"

Stepfather Bruce Jenner also sent love and support. "I am very proud of her," he told E!. "She had a lot of guts to say yes to do this show with no dance background at all. Success is not measured by heights attained, but by obstacles overcome."

While Kardashian was extremely sad to leave the show so soon, she told E!, "This was a huge challenge for me. Every dance was a huge accomplishment for me, and I did the best I could. And this was the best experience of my life."
