King of Pop Turns 50

Michael Jackson celebrated his 50th birthday on Friday, August 29, 2008. The King of Pop said, prior to the day, that he plans to spend his 50th birthday, "Just hav[ing] a little cake with my children and we'll probably watch some cartoons." Jackson has three children - Paris Katherine, Prince Michael I, and Prince Michael II. Even if they eventually follow in their father's footsteps, you can be sure that their upbringings will be very different than Michael's, a Gary, Indiana native.

Jackson said, "I feel very wise and sage, but at the same time very young." Besides his feelings, being 50 means that Jackson, like all people 50 and older, is going to be officially eligible for membership in AARP. "You never know. They can find you wherever you are," he says. But even if he's getting older, don't think that Jackson's recording years are over. "I am writing all the time. I love composing. . . . But I am also raising my children," Jackson told Good Morning America. Jackson also told GMA that he would like to release an album soon. How soon is anyone's guess, but soon.
