Kirstie Alley Returns with Reality Show
Kirstie Alley has reemerged into the entertainment world, this time starring on a reality show about her struggles with losing weight, A&E announced Friday morning.
The show, titled Kirstie Alley’s Big Life, premieres March 21 at 10pm, with two back-to-back episodes, reported the network.
"This show has been cathartic for me . . . shown me who I really am . . . again . . . and it's really freaking funny," Alley said in a statement.
Over the years, Alley's continuous issues with her weight have been a hot topic. She famously dropped 75 pounds after a campaign with Jenny Craig and flaunted her bathing suit body on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2006.
However, late last year, she returned to the talk show to reveal that she had gained back 85 pounds, and was tipping the scales at more than 200 pounds.
"It's humiliating," she confessed to Winfrey. "The most painful thing for me is that I have all these people that I inspired and then I let them down."
In addition to chronicling her weight loss battle on Big Life, the show will also show her "producing a feature film, patenting multiple inventions, working hard to raise two normal Hollywood teenagers, True and Lillie [her adopted sons with her ex, Parker Stevenson], taking care of eight ringtail lemurs, and on top of everything, looking for love -- nothing like a little pressure," according to the release.
