Kirstie Alley Suing Tabloid

Kirstie Alley is suing a tabloid for claiming she was forced to resign from Jenny Craig.

Kirstie Alley has recently stepped down as spokesperson for Jenny Craig after three years. Days after that she announced she will be starting her own diet program. And now she is suing an American tabloid for making claims that Jenny Craig fired her for being overweight.

Alley has been battling her weight for years. She said after she divorced her husband she turned to food. After attempting to use her weight problems with the show Fat Actress, Alley decided to make a change. She joined Jenny Craig and became their spokesperson.

After three years, it was reported that Alley was ready to move on. Jenny Craig's spokesperson stated, "After being a celebrity client for our program these past three years - losing 75 lbs. and maintaining that weight loss for over a year - Kirstie Alley is ready to move on to other creative challenges."

Rumors have been spreading that Alley was forced to resign because she is still fighting the bulge. Alley says, "It's hurtful and harmful to me. I'm going to litigate. It's chronic and has been chronic for the last three years. This one (false report) is extremely damaging." Alley is taking steps to sue the tabloid that started these rumors.
