Kris Allen signs his first recording deal
Kris Allen, winner of the eighth season of "American Idol," has finally signed on the dotted line that calls him to sing for his first album, Rolling Stone magazine reported.
Allen, who won the finale in a shocking upset, had originally been signed by 19 recordings, which is owned by 19 Entertainment, the show's producers. It will be distributed through Jive Records. The album will debut in the fall. Kris Allen said in a statement on Monday that it will be like the stuff he has been singing on the show.
"Everyone's been asking me what it's going to sound like. It will be very similar to what you heard from me on the show -- definitely in the pop/rock genre," Allen said.
Before his debut album though, Allen will be a part of the American Idol 2009 Summer tour, starting July. His current single "No Boundaries" is No. 23 on Billboard charts.
