Kris Allen Signs Record Deal

American Idol winner expects his debut album in late fall

The ink has dried and "American Idol" winner Kris Allen is officially on board with 19 Recordings with his debut album being licensed to Jive Records.

"No Boundaries," written by Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, is the first single off the album slated for a late fall release. Allen has already made his way onto Billboard's Hot 100 with his remake of Kanye West's "Heartless" that sits at No. 33, and "No Boundaries," which has quickly climbed to No. 23. Fans eager to know what the album will sound like can expect the same pop/rock style that they were treated to on the top-rated show.

The 23-year-old Arkansas native says he is excited to be working with Simon Fuller, Creator and Executive Producer of "American Idol" and Founder and CEO of 19 Entertainment, as well as Barry Weiss and Jive Records. Allen says that as exciting as the past few months have been, he's looking forward to what lays ahead.

Next up for Allen, aside from the album, is the "American Idol" 2009 Summer Tour. The tour will take the 2009 cast, including Allen, all over the country for 50 dates. They will hit the road starting July 5 in Portland, Oregon and end on Sept. 15 in Manchester, New Hampshire. Sunday, Allen sang the National Anthem at the Staples Center in Los Angeles for game 2 of the NBA Finals.
