Kristin Bell to Have Much Larger Role on "Heroes"

The third season of the show kicks off on Sept. 22.

Kristin Bell's character on NBC's Heroes, Elle Bishop, will reportedly be featured much more on the show with the writers developing her backstory to give the character a great deal of depth.

This backstory, according to a recent interview Bell (who appeared as Sarah Marshall in Forgetting Sarah Marshall) did with SCI FI Wire, may draw connections with other characters on the show that no one would have guessed she would have.

"I actually like where [the writers have] taken the whole story line this year for everybody, including Elle," Bell told the magazine.

Elle, if you haven't been following the show, is a young woman who first appeared on Heroes as sort of a bounty hunter looking for Peter. She possesses electical powers and is the daughter of Robert Bishop, who is one of the braintrusts behind the organization of "heroes."

The spin on Bell's character is that she appears to get enjoyment out of hurting other characters, and appears to be a bit unstable.

"They're showing more of her human side," Bell said. "She's this vaguely barbaric, unfeeling, antisocial adaptive killer who's coy. However, she's had some tough decisions to make [over the years, and the writers are] giving her more depth. There are flashback scenes showing that she's intricately woven into people's lives before you met her. She met a lot of [the characters] before she was introduced on the show."

The premiere of Heroes is scheduled for Sept. 22 at 8/7 CT.
