Kung Fu Panda Sequel in the Works

The popular animated film will have a sequel coming out in 2011.

It's official; fans will get to see more of Jack Black as the Kung Fu Panda, reports the HollywoodReporter.com.

DreamWorks announced that a sequel to Panda will be released in 3D (the new standard for all DreamWorks flicks coming out starting next year) on June 3, 2011.

The original cast that includes Black and Angelina Jolie will be back with Jennifer Yuh Nelson as director, Melissa Cobb once again as producer, along with writers and co-producers Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger.

The company has good reason to bring back the "Panda," as the film grossed $626 million worldwide, earning its place as DreamWorks' most successful nonsequel.

With Disney/Pixar's Cars 2 coming out in the same summer, 2011 is looking good for family entertainment.

In the meantime, fans can pick up the original Panda on Nov. 9 on two disc DVD and Blu-ray which will have the new story, "Secrets of the Furious Five" among its extras.
