Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained is poised to gain Kurt Russell as a member of its cast.

If he does, Russell, 60, would join an all-star line up of Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Jaime Foxx.

Tarantino worked with Russell on 2007’s Death Proof, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

If Russell joins the cast, he will replace Kevin Costner, who pulled out of the project last week due to scheduling conflicts.

According to Access Hollywood, Django Unchained is scheduled for release in December 2012.

Furthermore, Inglorious Basterds star, Waltz, was injured while training for an equestrian sequence in the western film.

His rep revealed, “Waltz is currently being treated for a dislocated pelvic bone and is looking forward to getting back in the saddle.”
