Kyra Phillips pokes fun at CNN mishap

The CNN anchor makes fun of herself on "Letterman."

CNN news anchor Kyra Phillips appeared on the "Late Show With David Letterman" Thursday following a live-mic accident during a telecast of President Bush's New Orleans speech.

Phillips went to the restroom while CNN was airing the speech Tuesday, unaware she was still wearing her wireless microphone. Her conversations with another woman were broadcast with the speech for over a minute, in which she discussed her husband and called her sister-in-law a "control freak."

During her appearance on the "Letterman" show, she ran down a "Top 10 List" of excuses for the incident. The top three reasons: "I just wanted that hunky Lou Dobbs to notice me"; "OK, so I was drunk and couldn't think straight"; and "You have to admit, it made the speech a lot more interesting."
