L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad!

Lauren Conrad, star of MTV's hit reality show, The Hills, has signed a book deal for a young adult fiction series with Harper Collins Publishers Thursday, according to Reuters.

The three-book series called "L.A. Candy" centers on the story of a young woman who transforms from a regular California girl to a reality show celebrity.

"I've never seen a new project generate noise like the instant buzz that swept through our offices around this deal," Elise Howard, senior vice president/associate publisher of Fiction for HarperCollins Children's Books, said in a statement, according to UPI.com.

"I've always loved books that I could lose myself in, ones that would transport me to another place, but had characters I could relate to," said Conrad, 22, in a statement, according to Reuters. "I'm so excited to have this opportunity to write books like that for other readers."

The first book is set to be published in the Summer of 2009.
