By Jenna Katherine Nelson,

Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott tied the knot on Saturday, marrying drummer Chris Tyrrell.

Hillary Scott marries Chris Tyrrell Joe Buissink

In a video posted to the Lady Antebellum website on Sunday, the couple surprised fans with the news. "I'd like to introduce you to Mrs. Hillary Scott Tyrrell," Tyrrell says. The adorable video was a chance for the couple to share the happy news with fans first, the Tyrrell's said.

The ceremony took just before sunset in upstate New York surrounded by family and close friends. Scott wore a custom Vera Wang mermaid gown, US Weekly reports, with "abstract all-over lace underlay, layered tulle skirt with horsehair banding and hand-cut corded lace applique with hand-applied crystal and pearl beading." A classic mantilla veil with hand-cut chantilly lace complemented the gown. Tyrrell choose a grey Ermenegildo Zegna suit with a black shirt and tie.

The couple announced their engagement in July 2011 after a hike in East Tennesse. "Chris proposed exactly the way I've always dreamed," Scott told PEOPLE in July. "Our families were close by, but it was just us out on a beautiful deck overlooking a lake in East Tennessee. We had just been on a hike and – in our workout clothes – he hit the knee! We feel so blessed by God that He sent us each other, and we are looking so forward to forever together!”
