Interscope Records announced via Twitter that Lady Gaga’s music video, “Judas,” will premiere May 2 on American Idol. They also tweeted that further details will also be announced sometime in the near future.
According to MTV, the music video for “Judas” was directed by Lady Gaga and her creative director, Laurieann Gibson. Gibson claimed that the video will have many people talking.
"It's a phenomenal video: really powerful, really impactful," she stated. "She's such a strong, committed artist. Her loyalty to me is something I will be forever grateful for. We're spiritually connected.”
PopEater reports that Gaga will portray Mary Magdalene and actor Normal Reedus will be Judas. Gibson originally thought the music video was too religious and offensive and almost stepped away from the project. After collaborating with Gaga, Gibson ultimately helped the pop star come up with a toned down version of the video.
