Laguna Beach, Season 3 Episode 2
She confesses to her friend Rocky that she would like to spend time with Chase on her 17th birthday and she still has feelings for him.
Meanwhile, Kyndra puts the finishing touches on her look before going out with Cameron. Even though Kyndra emphasized this was not a date, she did inquire about Cameron's relationship with Jessica. Cameron insists he and Jessica are not dating and they are not in a serious relationship. He says they only really hooked up one time; it will be interesting as we find out what Jessica thinks the relationship is.
Plans for Tessa's party are underway and Rocky wants to make sure it's a surprise. She knows Tessa wants Chase to be there, so she devises a plan to make Tessa think Chase will not be with her the night of her birthday. Chase agrees to plan, takes Tessa out and explains that he already has an engagement with his band and therefore cannot be with her on her birthday. Tessa seems disappointed, but reassures Chase that she is OK and knows how important his band is.
Back at Kyndra's house, Cami and Kyndra gossip about the upcoming surprise party. True to their "mean girls" form they make comments about how tawdry the invitations are and debate on whether or not they are going to go. Kyndra decides it will be worth the tackiness as long as she is able to see Cameron.
Tessa was completely shocked by her surprise party. Rocky had planned everything well and the decorations were all in place while the band kept the party going. Chase was even able to coax Tessa up on stage and the entire party serenaded her with "Happy Birthday." As the rest of the people at the party sang to Tessa, Cami and Kyndra left.
After Tessa recuperates from her party, she and Chase go to dinner. At dinner, Chase and Tessa talk about their importance to one another. As they get deeper into the conversation the phone rings and Chase has to cut dinner short. The evening ends amicably, but it looks like Tessa started to ponder whether things would work for her and Chase if his band has to come first.
