Laguna Beach, Season 3 Episode 7
Cami, Kyndra and Candace ponder dresses and dates as they talk about the upcoming winter formal. Kyndra worries about how Tyler will feel about her attending the dance without him and Cami predicts Kyndra will end up hooking up with Cameron.
Her run-in with Cameron has left Tessa weary and she decides she is going to detach herself from him and all guys at the moment. She chooses to brave the dance alone and discusses her plans with Chase as she helps him pick out what he will wear to formal. Chase lets Tessa know he has a date and will not be sharing her single status at the dance.
Every year the girls come up with creative ways to ask the guys to the winter formal. The girls employ all sorts of tactics to get the boys to agree. Raquel chooses the romantic approach and invites her boyfriend Alex to a picnic at the beach. Lexie goes for an artistic approach and decorates her car to ask Kelan; meanwhile Kyndra delivers a customized pizza to Derrick.
Kyndra tries to reassure Tyler that she will respect their relationship at the party, but little does she know Tyler has already employed his little sister to play watch dog and Nikki has agreed. Once they are off to the dance Cameron and Kyndra waste no time before they start flirting with each other, at one point Kyndra even whispers "I love you" to Cameron. Nikki, taking her job very seriously, lets Kyndra know she doesn't like the sneaky whispering.
Cami's after party became a confessional for Kyndra as she whispers to Cami that she "sinned" with Cameron at the dance. Nikki confronts Kyndra at the after-party and lets her know if she is going to cheat on Tyler she should just break up with him and Kyndra tells her the only thing she should have done differently was invite Tyler. Nikki does not buy it.
Reviews of the dance are mixed. Rocky had a great time and was all smiles as she reminisced about the night with Tessa. Tessa, on the other hand, looks forward to prom since the winter formal was not what she expected, she did not like that she was not able to dance. Winter formal was not overwhelmingly fun for Cami either who called it her least fun dance she's ever been to.Nikki and Kyndra have coffee and Nikki lets Kyndra know she is in an awkward position, being that she is her friend and Tyler's sister. Kyndra lies with ease and she tries to convince Nikki that she is a "good girl" and has remained true to Tyler. Nikki's instincts and the hickey on Cameron's neck prove Kyndra's story false.
