Laguna Beach, Season 3 Episode 9

It may be true that good things come to those who wait. After heartbreak with Cameron and a failed Valentine's Day, Tessa seems to have found a guy she likes. After Rocky helps her get ready, Tessa heads out with Derek. At dinner, Tessa ends up explaining why she is no longer friends with Kyndra. After dinner Derek asks Tessa back to his place and asks her for another date.

Jessica is annoyed with Cameron's behavior, again. She tells her friend she knows all about Kyndra and Cameron. She says she does not like the way Kyndra is nice in her face and then talks about her behind her back.

Cameron is whining to his friend, again, about Jessica saying he is sick of her accusations.

Cameron makes his feelings about Jessica's nagging known to her at dinner. He thinks her accusations are a way of flirting with him and he tells her he's tired of fighting. Jessica tells him that is not what she's doing and tries to get him to talk about his relationship with Kyndra.

Now that Tyler and Kyndra are through, she and Cami have time to shop and gossip. They are mean spirited as they express their distaste for Tessa and their confusion about what Derek sees in her.

The dinner Cameron and Jessica had must have pushed him over the top. He invites Jessica to the park and ends things with her. He tries to be manipulative and tells Jessica he's ending things so she won't miss out on other opportunities. Jessica becomes aggravated and tells Cameron not to turn things around on her. Cameron tells Jessica that he still wants things to be the same and Jessica tells them that things can not be the same, but she assures him that she will not cut him out of her life.

The boys get together and start to talk about their respective relationships. Derek says he is happy with Tessa but hates all the gossip. Cameron agrees that the gossip is bad and comments on how gossip affected him and Jessica's relationship.

Derek tries to ease the tension between his friends and Tessa by hosting a barbecue. He invites Cami, Kyndra and Nikki, who all tease Derek about choosing Tessa for a girlfriend. Once Tessa arrives, the girls make her feel awkward and they make it clear that there is not enough room in the house for them and her. To really make their point, they hurriedly shove food into their mouths, say the party is boring and leave. As they are leaving Cami says Tessa has the personality of a wet rag. Tessa seems to be affected by the girls' actions and tells Rocky how she feels. Rocky tells her not to let it get to her and that she and Derek will have a good relationship.
