Laila Ali Gives Birth to Baby Boy

Ali is married to Curtis Conway, former NFL receiver.

Muhammad Ali's daughter (and Dancing with the Stars contestant), Laila Ali, has become a mother for the first time - giving birth to a baby Wednesday night.

Ali, 30, gave birth to Curtis Muhammad, and let her fans (and those simply interested in her child) know about her and her husband's news Thursday.

She said that her boy would be nicknamed CJ, and went on to say that he weighed six pounds and eight ounces at the time of birth. He was 19 inches long.

Ali announced her pregnancy in May, and her wishes to have "a natural home birth with no medication." She said that she would also use a midwife.

"Although mom and baby are both healthy and happy, there were some surprises during labor that altered Laila's birth plan," read a statement on the former boxer's Web site. "Mama and baby are resting."

Ali and Conway were married last year in a grand story in Marina del Rey, California.
