Larry King and Wife Reconcile

After filing divorce papers in April.

Larry King and his wife, Shawn Southwick, have reconciled, though the couple filed dueling divorce papers in April.

The 76-year-old CNN host and his 50-year-old wife filed petitions to terminate their divorce case in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday, according to TMZ.com.

Even when the divorce papers were filed nearly three months ago in April, King’s lawyer Dennis Wasser had told People.com “there’s a 50-50 chance this divorce is not happening.”

The initial reasons for divorce was that Southwick had accused King of having an affair with her younger sister, according to TMZ.com, while Southwick was allegedly having an affair with her son’s baseball coach, according to the National Enquirer.

Even after such accusations, the couple, who have been married 12 1/2 years and have two sons together, have decided to stay together.

“We love our children, we love each other, we love being a family. That is all that matters to us,” said the couple. “We owe it to ourselves and our children to continue being dedicated to each other.”

After Southwick’s hospitalization in late May for an “attempted suicide,” King said he was “extremely supportive” of Southwick, according to NY Daily News.

“I love her dearly. Our marriage is still together and I am staying very close to our children, who we love immensely,” said King. “We shall go through this difficult time intact as a family.”
