The Late Night Battle

Who do you want to see host The Tonight Show?

This Friday will end Conan O’Brien’s seven-month run hosting The Tonight Show. Back in 2004, O’Brien signed a contract with NBC saying that in the summer of 2009 he will take over Jay Leno’s part as the host of The Tonight Show. Since 2004, five years have passed, and Leno did not come to terms with having to retire. He now has his own prime-time show, airing at 10pm, which is causing a drop in ratings and a loss of money for NBC.

With all of this late-night drama going on, TheCelebrityCafe.com wanted to get readers' input on what they think about this NBC conundrum. Who do you want to see host The Tonight Show? Do you enjoy having Conan O’Brien host it, or would you rather see it go back into the hands of Jay Leno?

So far, TheCelebrityCafe.com has received 213 votes—194 votes for Conan O’Brien, and 19 votes for Jay Leno. That puts O’Brien in the lead by a landslide—91 percent of voters would rather see him continue to host The Tonight Show instead of giving the show back to Leno.

NBC tried to make it work between the two hosts, giving Jay Leno a time-slot at 11:35 and having Conan host The Tonight Show at 12:05, but O’Brien did not want to take that deal.
