Lauren Bush Lauren’s wedding dress took more than 3,000 hours to create, required 100 tailors to hand sew antique ivory lace with Swarovski Elements crystals and it was well worth it. When the future daughter-in-law of designer Ralph Lauren walked down the aisle, she looked stunning.
Bush Lauren 27, and the designer’s son, David Lauren 39, married in a majestic ceremony on the elder Lauren’s 17,000 acre Double RL Ranch in Colorado. People reports the bride incorporated cowboy boots into her wedding day attire to look the part when she and David exchanged vows in a 200 year-old barn on the property. The bridesmaids looked like Little House on the Prairie, according to Bush Lauren in their boots, ankle-length skirts and linen vests. The bride also wore a headpiece as her something old, Victorian style earrings from a friend as her something borrowed and blue socks as – something blue of course.
In an interview with Vogue, David Lauren said the ceremony was like “being in a movie, like you were riding across the Old West and you stopped in at a wedding.” The article mentioned that just over 200 people attended the intimate ceremony and hardly needed the added decorations. Bush Lauren told Vogue, “With the Rockies and rolling cattle fields, decorating wasn’t a big concern. You could put out paper plates and confetti, and it would be gorgeous,” Lauren says, smiling, “but we didn’t quite do that.”
After honeymooning on the Amalfi Coast, both Lauren and David are back at work and settling nicely into married life. When asked by Vogue if their life has changed David had this to say, “In many ways I feel like we already were married for the past seven years, that from the first time we met we had a real connection, but that night we looked at each other and said, ‘We are family now.’ That’s a pretty amazing moment in your life.”
