Lauren Conrad Hits a Sweet Spot

The reality show star scores her second best-selling novel.

Lauren Conrad is savoring the sweet smell of success. The clothing designer and former reality show star of MTV’s The Hills is sitting pretty atop the New York Times best-seller list. Again.

Sweet Little Lies is the second novel in a trilogy of manuscripts Conrad is set to pen.

“It's so gratifying for my second book to be so successful and it was so fun to write,” Conrad tells People magazine. “The characters were already developed so I really enjoyed the process so much more this time around. All the characters have become like my friends now.”

The story of young reality TV star Jane Roberts continues in this follow up to L.A. Candy, but Roberts is no longer naïve to the Hollywood scene, People says.

Conrad tells People she’s just glad her fans came to her book signing despite the New York snowstorms.

Maybe some film adaptations will be in the works down the road?
