Lautner Gets Settlement from RV Company
Actor Taylor Lautner has won his case against McMahon’s RV. The 18-year-old Twilight star purchased a trailer from the California-based company to use while filming Abduction. According to TMZ, the nearly $300,000 RV was not delivered by the requested date of June 21. As a result, Lautner sued the company for breach of contract and fraud.
Lautner won $40,000 from the case, but decided not to pocket the cash. His attorney Robert Barta told Us Weekly that The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl star will instead donate the money to the Lollipop Theater Network. The charity brings movies that are currently in theaters to people who are stuck in the hospital with chronic or life-threatening illnesses.
Despite a report from TMZ, claiming the ordered trailer was supposed to be “tricked out” and that the actor was suffering “emotional distress" from not having it, Us Weekly claims that’s not the case.
According to the magazine’s source, “This was never a suit about money. It was to hold someone accountable. Taylor never ordered a customized RV -- it was a used RV which needed simple safety-related repairs. There was never any diva behavior. 'Emotional distress' is an automatic checked box on a fraudulent claim.”
