Lautner had to "Change" for "New Moon"
Taylor Lautner is ready to join the A-list of the "Twilight" series stars, when he is pushed to the front line in "New Moon."
Lautner plays Jacob, a werewolf who is also the soul mate of Bella, played by Kristen Stewart. Jacob goes through quite a change from the first film to the second. In the first, Lautner is a long-haired boy that was part of the supporting cast and almost cut completely from "New Moon."
Jacob and Lautner both are thrust into the spotlight. He went through a lot of changes on all accounts including physique. Lautner, the actor, had to go on a strict regimen to build the muscle he will be showing most of the film.
According to MiamiHerald.com, "Lautner mixed exercise and high-calorie meals to build the body that gets revealed repeatedly in the movie. The more than 3,200 calories he needed daily to be able to add the muscle mass was accomplished by eating every two hours."
