The judge in the involuntary manslaughter trial against Dr Conrad Murray will meet with lawyers from both sides today before jury selection begins next week.
The meeting will hammer out final details of the jury selection process.
145 potential jurors will have to answer a 30-page questionnaire to determine bias and familiarity with the case before California prosecutors and Murray's defense team whittle the selection down to 18.
Defense lawyer Michael Chernoff told CNN:
"One of the things that we learned in the case the last go-around in the jury selection, it's absolutely shocking how many jurors think already they know everything about this case."
Opening statements are scheduled to begin on September 27.
