Ledger Family Squabbles over Estate

The long-standing feud among members of Heath Ledger's family continues.

Heath Ledger's two uncles have voiced concerns that Ledger's father, Kim, could mishandle Ledger's sizable estate, according to E! News.

Mike and Hayden Ledger contend that Kim Ledger previously mishandled their grandfather's finances, and are worried that Heath Ledger's fortunes could be lost.

The brothers Ledger have been estranged from Kim Ledger for 15 years. They told their story to Australia's Sunday Times, saying they chose to speak out so as not to bring undue attention to Heath Ledger's short life.

They also said that they gave their opinion on Kim Ledger's financial management skills out of concern for Heath's daughter, Matilda.

"It is sad at this extremely difficult time in our lives, while we are grieving the loss of our beloved son, that estranged family members publicly discuss matters they have not been privy to, in the past or now," Kim Ledger said last week.

Heath Ledger, the Academy Award winning actor, died two months ago in his apartment in New York after taking an accidental overdose of pills. Ledger will appear in the movie, The Dark Knight, this summer.

Heath's will was drafted before his relationship with actress Michelle Williams. It leaves everything to his parents and sisters, though his father was quick to publicly state that Williams and Matilda will not be left out.
