Ledger's Video Foreshadowed Death
Amongst the other heart breaking reports continuing to pour in concerning actor Heath Ledger, is an eerie video in which the actor is shown "drowning" himself. The video portrays the actor involving himself in suicidal actions, set to a song from the late singer/songwriter Nick Drake, who died of an overdose on the antidepressant amitriptyline.
Ledger passed away yesterday, January 22, 2008, after being found naked and unconscious at the foot of his bed. The actor was discovered in his New York City apartment in the early afternoon, after failing to show up at a scheduled appointment with his masseuse.
It is alleged by Billboard.com that Ledger shot and edited the black and white clip himself. The video was part of a bigger installation, "A Place To Be," in tribute to Nick Drake last summer at Seattle's Bumbershoot Festival.
Ledger is seen drowning himself in the bathtub, while Drake's "Black Eyed Dog" plays in the background. "Black Eyed Dog" is allegedly the last song Drake wrote before committing suicide in 1974.
