Legendary Writer Hunter S. Thompson Ends Life
Hunter S. Thompson, the renowned journalist, was found dead and is believed to have committed suicide.
The literary icon Hunter S. Thompson took his own life at 67 this past Sunday evening. He committed suicide with his own handgun in his Colorado home. Thompson was a unique writer who created his own journalistic style in which he himself was the central element of the piece. This was later coined 'gonzo journalism.' Thompson leaves behind a far stretching legacy as well as a great number of supporters and opponents as his advocacy and usage of drugs was highly publicized. A large portion of Thompson's early work was featured in Rolling Stone magazine and his 1972 paramount composition 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' was adapted into the Hollywood film of the same name.
