Lennon's Handwritten 'Day in the Life' Lyrics Up for Bids
John Lennon's handwritten "Day In The Life" lyrics went on sale Tuesday.
It was thirty-nine years ago Tuesday that Lennon finished reading the morning paper and wrote "Day In The Life."
In 1992, the lyrics were sold by the estate of Beatles road manager, Mal Evans for $100,000. Now the collector's family is selling it and expects seven figures.
Lennon said two articles in the paper inspired the lyrics, including one about the death of Tara Browne, the heir to the Guinness fortune and a friend of the Beatles.
The song appeared on the Beatles album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band."
