Lennon's Solos Available for Download in December
John Lennon's complete solo catalog will be available for downloading from the Internet for the first time in December.
Solos by ex-Beatles star John Lennon, who was murdered 25 years ago on December 8, will now be downloadable for anyone with an Internet connection. This December, Lennon will become the first Beatle to have his solo works available on the Web. The songs will be sold on music sites, such as Napster, MSN Music, Rhapsody and Yahoo Music Unlimited. EMI Music also released a statement saying that select songs will be available for download as ringtones for cell phones. Whether or not this will have him turning in his grave, we don't know, but Yoko, in a statement released by the record label EMI Music, said that he would be happy as, "New technology is something he always embraced."
