Leonardo DiCaprio Drops Out of Gibson Film
Leonardo DiCaprio has reportedly checked out of his upcoming film with Mel Gibson, who is currently under investigation for domestic abuse against his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva.
The two actors had started filming a historical epic about Vikings that was set to be released this fall. DiCaprio was set to be the lead, but according to hollywood.com, the Inception actor has left the project.
Due to all of the negative publicity surrounding Gibson lately, DiCaprio does not want to be a part of the chaos. DiCaprio’s decision is not a surprise to most.
The untitled Viking project is not the only film that has failed due to the actor’s current status. A new comedy starring Gibson that is directed by Jodie Foster has been put on hold as well, for the future of the film is uncertain.
The Viking film, written by William Monahan, could have been a good piece. However, with the rave reviews that Inception is receiving, DiCaprio is looking to keep his slate clean, unlike Mr. Gibson.
