Letterman Accusations Mount

A former female staff writer for early 90's talk show, Late Night with David Letterman has spoken out against apparently hostile working conditions and sexual favoritism during her time spent working on the show, according to the NYPost.com.

Nell Scovell, detailed her complaints in an article she wrote for Vanity Fair online Tuesday.

In 1990 Scovell landed a position as a writer for the popular late-night talk show and viewed it as a "dream job." It took only a few months to realize that there were definite workplace issues. Specifically, the overwhelming role sexual politics with higher-level male employees played in furthering a female employee's career.

"I'd seen enough to know that I was not going to thrive professionally in that workplace...sexual politics played a major part", Scovell wrote.

She continues: "Did he pay me enough extra attention that it was noted by another writer? Yes. Was I aware of rumors that Dave was having sexual relationships with female staffers? Yes."

This is not unexpected news. Letterman in past weeks has admitted and profusely apologized on-air for affairs that took place at work in response to an alleged blackmail attempt.

Scovell wrote in her article: "Did that make me feel demeaned? Completely. Did I say anything at the time? Sadly, no."
