Letterman to Return to Late Night
The funny business is over. At least that between The Writers Guild of America and "The Late Show with David Letterman."
David Letterman, along with his writing staff, will be returning to television late nights next week. Friday, the comedic talk show host settled an agreement with the striking screenwriters union.
After eight weeks of striking, writers will now be paid for their show's content on the Internet. The deal was negotiated with Letterman's production company, WorldWide Pants Inc.
Letterman will be back to making new jokes after airing only reruns since November 5th in support of the writers' strike.
Letterman is "happy to going back to work, and particularly pleased to be doing it with our writers," he said in a statement released to the press.
