Bristol Palin's former fiance speaks out about tension between him and the Palins

During the 2008 presidential election, the world focused on the Palin family, especially Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol who was pregnant and engaged at the time. Now, with son Tripp who is three-months-old and the couple no longer together, Levi Johnston, Bristol's former fiance is speaking out about how he feels when he spends time with his son and the awkwardness between him and the Palin family. On CBS' "The Early Show," and only a few days after he appeared on "The Tyra Banks Show" Levi Johnston spoke openly about how the media and the Palins portrayed him at the time of the election and the relationship he now has with the Palins. "I can go over there whenever I want and see my baby. But I'm not allowed to take him, and it's not as comfortable going over there anymore with that family sitting down on the couch. It's awkward. I don't know. They just, like, they don't think of me the same way anymore," says Johnston. "I don't wanna go over there every day and sit there when her family's there and try and play with my baby. I want to be able to take him and do what – our own thing with my family."Johnston's mother Sherry and sister Mercede also spoke out during the show about how Levi is portrayed by the Palin family and tabloids. "They're lying, trying to save themselves when they're not the ones that asked for it. They brought him into the campaign. They should have known what was coming. They can't turn around and try and take it back now," said sister Mercede.Levi declared that the biggest reason why he is speaking out now about it, "I'm just trying to get my side of the story out there. Letting people know who I am. Not what the magazines say I am."
