Levi Johnston Battles For Custody of Famous Son

The 19-year-old wants to be a daddy, or rather wants to be famous.

An attempt to stay in the spot-light or a genuine plea from a loving father? Either way, the news is covering this continuing freakshow. Levi Johnston, father of almost Vice-President Sarah Palin's grandson, is pursuing legal action to gain joint custody. The original plan was for Bristol Palin and Johnston to be wed, but once public image was no longer a priority (read: McCain lost), the sham was up. Now the fight over the baby begins.

Johnston and Palin's 10-month-old, Tripp, has been kept from him, Johnston told The Insider . Apparently, the whole Palin family does not want him to be able to see his son.

Johnston isn't having it. "It's not working. I'm done," he said. "It's going to have to go to court. They just finally pushed me over the edge." But, Johnston, really, ever think that maybe they have legit concerns? Like you using your new found fame to star in such publications as Playgirl? Or your obvious gain from such publicity as a custody battle? Whatever the case may be, Johnston's relationship with the Palins has gone sour real quick with Johnston calling Sarah Palin a hypocrite and Palin shooting back with comments about him posing nude.

What's next? Johnston claims that the baby isn't really Palin's? We'll see.
