Levi Johnston Gets Custody Battle to go Public
Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin, daughter of Vice President runner up Sarah Palin, have been fighting about the custody of their one-year-old son, Tripp.
Two judges in Alaska have agreed that the trial would be best played out in public. One judge said that one of the reasons for this ruling was that Bristol had not provided any proof that Tripp would be harmed by the publicity of the hearing.
In a statement Johnston said, “I think a public case might go a long way in reducing Sarah Palin’s instinct to attack. I feel more comfortable in a public courtroom which will help everyone stay civil and be on their best behavior,” LA Times reported.
Bristol Palin, on the other hand, wanted a gag order and to use pseudonyms in court while she fought for sole custody of Tripp. Bristol has said that she believes Johnston wants the battle to go public “for his own self-promotion.”
