Lil' Kim gets out of jail early
Rapper Lil' Kim, who was ordered to spend a year in prison on perjury charges, will be released early.
"I am thrilled to be coming home," Lil' Kim (real name: Kimberly Jones) said in a statement issued Thursday by her rep, Tracy Nguyen and reported by "People" magazine. "I thank all my fans for all their letters, as well as my family and friends for all their support throughout the past 10 months."
Kim will be released from her Philadelphia detention center July 3, but will have to spend the next 30 days under house arrest.
"We are pleased that Kim is coming home to start the next phase of her life," her entertainment lawyer, L. Londell McMillan said in the statement issued Thursday. "She has accepted responsibility and handled herself in an exemplary manner."
