Lil Wayne and Rolling Stones Reach Settlement

A settlement has been reached over Lil Wayne's alleged use of a Rolling Stones song, Thursday.According to the Hollywood Reporter, Abkco Music, Inc., owners of the rights to a portion of the Rolling Stones catalog, originally filed the suit against UMG Recordings, Inc., Warner/Chappell Music, Inc., EMI Group, Ltd. and other parties in July of last year. Lil Wayne was also named in that suit.

Abkco claimed copyright infringement and unfair competition, saying that Lil Wayne's "Playing with Fire" was a clear derivative of the Stones' tune.All parties are said to be satisfied with the settlement's outcome.
