Lil' Wayne Faces the Judge Today

The rapper will receive his one-year prison setence from a New York judge.

Lil' Wayne will have to put his lady lovin' on hold for a year.

The superstar rapper is expected to begin his one-year prison sentence today when Judge Charles H. Solomon formally hands down the punishment in a New York court, MTV reports.

Wayne will reportedly enter a guilty plea to a reduced charge of attempted gun possession and is now looking at roughly 10 months in prison. He could be released on good behavior after eight months.

Wayne was arrested for gun possession after a New York concert in July 2007.

MTV says the firearm at the center of this case was registered to Wayne’s manager but attempts by Wayne’s attorney to dismiss the case failed.

Wayne released his latest album, Rebirth, earlier this month and has been in the studio working on Tha Carter IV, an album that will most likely be released while he is in prison.
