Lil Wayne Heads to Hometown for Voodoo
Rapper Lil Wayne, whose album, Tha Carter III, recently had the quickest-selling sales debut this year, will perform at the Voodoo Experience in New Orleans this fall, according to Billboard.com.
This year's Voodoo Experience, dubbed the "Tenth Ritual" by show organizers, due to its being the 10th anniversary, will be headlined by R.E.M., Nine Inch Nails and Stone Temple Pilots.
Lil Wayne, 23, is the latest addition to the lineup of over 50 acts which also include Erykah Badu, Wyclef Jean, Joss Stone, Lupe Fiasco, Dashboard Confessional, Panic at the Disco, Death Cab for Cutie, DeVotchKa, The Gutter Twins and Cold War Kids, among others.
The rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., recently netted a BET Award for his single, "Lollipop," and was ranked in the top 3 on MTV's "The Hottest MCs in the Game" list.
The Voodoo Experience will take place at the City Park behind the New Orleans Museum of Art on several separate stages from October 24 to October 26.
