Lil Wayne Shot 9 Music Videos Last Weekend

Wayne prepares to leave a legacy while in jail.

As Lil Wayne prepares to go to jail, the MC shot nine music videos this week for songs from Tha Carter IV, Rebirth and Young Money LPs.

Lil Wayne was expected to begin serving his one-year sentence on a weapons possession charge on Tuesday and while sentencing was postponed until March 2, the MC has spent the past weeks recording music and videos.

Cash Money chiefs Ronald "Slim" Williams and his brother Brian enlisted video director David Rousseau to shoot nine videos over the course of three days.

The director said the production started around 9 a.m. on Friday and was finished around 8 a.m. on Sunday. The director told MTV news "we knew what our deadline was. We're trying to get maximum coverage for Wayne. Most of the time we only shot Wayne's verses - we'll finish the rest of the videos off in the next couple of weeks."

Some of the videos shot were "Da Da Da," "Knockout," and "Get a Life" from Rebirth and a brand new song from the highly anticipated Carter IV. "Da Da Da" features the rock band !Mayday! and was shot on location at the Marlin Hotel in Miami.
Rousseau previously directed the Young Money video "Roger That" and the Kevin Rudolf/Birdman/Jay Sean collaboration "I Made It (Cash Money Heroes)."

The point of the videos is to keep Wayne visible for whatever time he's in, unlike his fellow rapper T.I. who disappeared while he was in jail.
