MTV News reports that rapper Lil’ Wayne will be serving the remainder of his prison sentence in solitary confinement.

The rapper was arrested back in 2007 on gun charges, and struck a plea deal landing him in New York’s Rikers Island prison. When guards found an mp3 charger and headphones in his cell, he was given solitary confinement as a punishment as both items are considered contraband.

Wayne had been writing to fans on his website, Weezythanxyou.com, chronicling his time in prison and thanking the fans for their support.

He recently posted the last letter he’ll be able to write until the end of his term, “My Last Written Lines,” again thanking fans for their continuing support:

“Because of my new limitations, this unfortunately has to be my last letter," the rapper wrote. "I don't think people truly understand how much their thoughts and well wishes have helped me through this time in my life."

"Not everyone is as lucky as I am and it humbles me daily," Wayne confessed. "You would be amazed what positivity can do in a negative environment."

"I'm going to miss reading about your lives," he candidly revealed. "I'm going to miss looking at the pictures. They were the highlight of my days aside from speaking with my kids. Don't stress over this in 27 days, the ride starts again."
