Lily Allen Announces Album Release Date

Lily Allen has announced that her second album, at this point titled Stuck on the Naughty Step, will be released on February 9, 2009.

The singer also said, in a statement, that before she releases the album, she will release a viral video, which she will film in the immediate future.

"I am trying really hard to do this album with integrity," Allen wrote in her MySpace blog. "I want you all to know that it has been thought about by me, not just some thrown together last-minute industry bullshizz."

Allen went on to talk about the new material she is writing, saying: "I'm working on extra stuff in the studio at the moment, it seems making an album isn't enough these days."

A few months ago, Allen said that if her second album was deemed a failure, which apparently means that it receives poor reviews and fails to sell what her record company thinks (although, who knows what a failure is in Allen's eyes), she will give up music. She said that she would like to be a concert promoter.

But the simple fact is, if her new album's anywhere near her debut effort, fans of Allen's should expect a third record.
