The New York Times reports conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has been dropped by a group trying to buy the St. Louis Rams. This comes only after a day when NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Limbaugh's bid to buy an NFL team would receive little support from owners.

According to the Associated Press, Limbaugh is blaming critics for why he was dropped from the group. Limbaugh says St. Louis Blues owner David Checketts, the head of the group, approached him earlier this year. He also alleges Becketts said his involvement as a minority owner would not be an issue with the NFL.

Though hardly a fan of Limbaugh's, Chicago Sun-Times columnist Stu Courtney feels Limbaugh got a raw deal by the NFL and should have been able to pursue his financial endeavors.
