Rush Limbaugh, the conservative talk radio host and declared global warming skeptic, took a couple laps in a fully electric car on "The Jay Leno Show" Thursday.
After a heated chat about capitalism, health care, social security, and the stimulus package, Limbaugh and Leno stepped out to the racetrack for a spin in the custom-built Ford Focus for the show's "green car challenge," the Christian Science Monitor reports.
After a timid first lap around the track, Limbaugh sped up, as he got more comfortable with the car. He plowed through flying ping-pong balls and streamers in the second lap.
When it came to cardboard cutouts of environmental activists Al Gore and Ed Begley Jr., Limbaugh ran over both, stopped, backed up, and ran over them a second time.
Even though he said the electric car wouldn't save the environment, Limbaugh exclaimed, "Nobody would believe this car is electric!"
