Lindsay Gets A Court Date
Surprise, surprise, Lindsay Lohan is being sued for an accident she had while she was allegedly under the influence. For once, the surprise is, she may not have actually been at fault. According to TMZ, L.A. Superior County Judge Michael L. Stern is allowing Raymundo Ortega to go ahead with his lawsuit against Lohan. Ortega is claiming that Lohan was under the influence when she crashed into his van while trying to avoid paparazzi in 2005. His attorney, Robert G. Klein, apparently spoke to an employee of the posh Hollywood eatery, the Ivy, who served an underage Lohan alcohol. Supposedly, Lohan was not drunk, and it was Ortega who made an illegal u-turn and was at fault for the accident. "This is a bogus claim. Mr. Ortega is 100 percent at fault and Lindsay shouldn't have to pay anything," said Lohan's attorney, David J. Ozeran. Ortega is looking to gain compensation totaling over $200,000, which includes pain and suffering and medical bills. The court date is set for April 7, 2008.
